The Lex Officio Journal is inspired by the needs of practitioners, particularly in the field of law, regarding office management, for instance regulations related to business (especially in the service sector), codes of ethics, and office technical matters connected to public policy. We focus on office management studies within the context of the legal profession, such as police, public prosecutors, lawyers, notaries, PPAT, mediators, and others, although other professions outside the legal field that are relevant, especially concerning the code of ethics, are also possible. We collaborate with practitioners from the police, military, public prosecutors, lawyers, consultants, and other relevant professions as peer reviewers and editorial board members. This study represents a new subspecialization, particularly in the field of law, which has recently emerged. Lex Officio comes from the term “Ex Officio,” originating from Latin, meaning “by virtue of office”. A person is called ex officio when they automatically hold a position, office, or membership in an institution/committee/council not because they are directly elected or appointed, but because they already hold another office that grants them that right.
